Where have I gone?

It's Thursday and a gloriously beautiful sunny day here in Columbus. Yesterday, Grant and I planted three rose bushes that were only $5.00 at Wally world. That was a fun activity to do with him as he loves dirt and being a "farmer". After school yesterday, I hosted 13 wild Brownies from Jenna's troop and we started a little scrapbook for them to keep their girl scout memories in. They did a great job and had fun.

Yesterday was my first "real" day on Spring break....in Ohio. I flew on Sat. morning to ATL to surprise DeLynn at her 60th birthday party that her four daughters had planned. It was a Mexican themed fiesta and much fun was had by all. DeLynn was SHOCKED and so happy. The best part was the Moonpie cake (delicious) and the photo booth that took crazy pictures. Angel had her party props for us to wear...too much fun. I'll try to post a picture once I get them. I'm so glad that I made the effort to come celebrate with her & the Corica clan. We stayed up until 1:00 am just talking and catching up. Angel & Patrick's house is amazing! They have a real gift in creative decor and modern art...lots of pictures, of course! Patrick's photography business is booming and let me just tell you...if he lived in Ohio, he'd have all my business!!!
I also got to see Emerson (Nicole's little boy who was born on Grant's 6th birthday) who is adorable! Lana was there as well and so darn cute and funny! A part of me wished Jenna could have come with me...summer for sure.

On Sunday I met up with the Ya Ya's for a little St. Patrick's dinner at the fab Houstons. They have the best vegetable burger on the planet! It was great to see them and catch up. We're already planning our next scrapbooking weekend for June. I feel blessed to have these friends in my life even though I moved away nine years ago.

Then is was a relaxing stay at Chanel's guest house. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Although the weather was rainy every day but my last day...I soaked in the tub, read a book and slept in each day. Chanel is the perfect hostess, and her Joey (5 1/2) is a genious! He's Grant's little ATL friend. We were able to get away for an evening and watch "She's just not that into you", which was light and funny-even if it was very s l o w moving. We had a light dinner at "The Grape" at Phipps and tasted a few new wines. There are so many yummy places in ATL to eat...too many to mention! I was eager to get back to my family, so I was super ready to come home on Tuesday night. It's always healthy to take a break from my "life" and get some R & R by myself!
Fortunately, Scott's mom was able to watch the kids and as always Scott is great about letting me get away!

These two weeks off will find me sprucing up the flower beds, spring cleaning closets, rooms and the basement area. I have two curtains to finish sewing and do the annual summer/winter switch out for the kids clothes. I have lot of great things to sell on ebay! Both kids are growing so fast that I can't keep track of who/what size!

This is a long post...I'll try to keep them shorter and post more often.

Happy Spring!
