Today was a big day for our family. Well sorta. Since 1993, Scott and I have had 14 addresses. Yes, 14 apartments, condos, and houses...in 16 years. CRAZY.

Funny things is that in every (and I mean EVERY) place we've had white-ish linoleum in the kitchen. Well guess what? Not anymore. Tonight we went to the coolest place in Grandview and ordered our wood and chose our color of stain. Scott's good friend Jake is going to install, sand, buff, stain and seal them sometime soon. I am so excited I can't contain it. I never have loved wood as much as I do today. Ahh....no more dirty dog haired floors. They will still need swept every day...but they will look so much more like Martha Stewart's. I'll take it!

Today we interviewed a third candidate for our middle school head (principal) as our new one (who is wonderful) is leaving at the end of the year to be with his family in Chicago. UGH. I hate change. (unless it's a bad situation!) It causes me to be anxious and fret about things I can't control. Sound familiar? Tomorrow we meet yet another candidate. I just pray that the right person gets chosen and the transition is smooth. If you think about it, say a little prayer that all will go well...it has to, right?

Yesterday was my dear Susie's 32nd birthday and TODAY is my sister Emily's 34th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweet sisters! I'm grateful you're in my life and can't wait until Easter to see you both.

  1. Hi Laura...I love Shearer Bliss! And I promise to get better at checking in and commenting. I am so excited about the wedding/vacation plans with you and Jenna attending the wedding, and also enjoying Hilton Head as a family. I loved the photos of Jenna's birthday party - just the right age for a sleep-over with her friends, and you're the best mom! Give J & G a hug from Tee, and I'll check in again soon. Love, DeLynn
